How to Learn Anything Fast

Richard Feynman · classic essay

Most people think learning means reading something once and hoping it sticks. It doesn't. Real learning is active. You have to wrestle with ideas, not just receive them.

The best way to learn is to teach. When you try to explain a concept in plain words, you quickly discover what you actually understand versus what you only think you understand. When you explain it simply, you find the gaps. That's when real understanding kicks in — go back, fill the gaps, then explain it again.
